Create dynamic CSS using PHP If Else Statement

Dynamic CSS Using PHP

Soon after 1994, when Håkon Wium Lie first proposed the concept of CSS, ever since then CSS has evolved in many ways. Now CSS can control many things on its own but it is yet not a dynamic language. You may argue that CSS3 can target different device widths by using CSS Media Queries to show different styles to the visitor, but that’s not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about controlling our CSS selector’s values using PHP. Yeah that’s true! So let’s get deep into the topic.

Before starting the tutorial I want to make sure that you’re familiar with the basics of PHP and WAMP Server. Because during this tutorial I’ll use few terms and which will not be explained further.

Step 1

First create a PHP file in your www root with basic HTML taxonomies.

Result of Step 1

So we’ve created our PHP file for the purpose with basic HTML taxonomies. In the next step we’ll create an internal stylesheet in our PHP file.

Step 2

Place this code inside your head section.

Result of Step 2

So far so easy but wait till the real show begins. We’ll add some PHP codes inside our <style> tag to control the background color. Let’s step forward to our next level.

Step 3

We’ll create two PHP variables inside our <style> tag and will give them some value. The first variable will be $var1 and second will be $var2.

Now we’ve two variables with the value 5 and 7. So what will we do with these two variables? I’ll show you in the next step.

Step 4

Let’s bring the property and declaration of body inside a PHP code and echo it.
