Movie Review – Boyhood
“In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on.” ― Robert Frost
Once in a while a movie will shake down your foundations; it will render you speechless – where every frame is simply perfect and not one feels out of place. Boyhood – in fact it is not even a movie. It’s a celebration of the poignant and smaller moments of life. The character of the protagonist Mason can be any one of us. We all can relate with him at certain moments. Linklater elevates the movie to an art form because he depicts moments rather than arranging random scenes which we have been accustomed to. He crafts a beautiful movie with natural performances, an eclectic soundtrack and not to mention – simple yet elegant camerawork. Now this is how a movie should be – it persuades us to ponder. It is more realistic.
The journey of the protagonist is the real hero here. It’s a story of YOU and I. Undoubtedly the best movie of 2014 as of yet!
