New Assamese film – Raag, the Rhythm of Love
After the success of Kangkan Rajkhowa’s Assamese film “Shinyor”, a new Assamese movie titled “Raag, the rhythm of love” will hit the cinemas of Assam on 7th February. The film, produced by Assam State Film (Finance and Development) Corporation Ltd, directed and written by Rajni Basumatary.
Rajni had earlier written and produced an Assamese feature film titled “Anuraag” that received Assam State Film awards in 2007. Famous actor Adil Hussain plays a parallel male protagonist role and Zerifa Wahid plays the lead role in the film “Raag, the Rhythm of Love”.
The movie’s plot revolves around Radhika (Zerifa Wahid), a charming Hindustani singer, Iqbal, a gifted painter, Alok, a corporate giant, Natalie, an Opera flutist from Prague and Partho, a musician with an electrifying personality. Their lives are interlinked as they come across each other at different stages of life. It has extremely interesting vignettes, told warmly and youthfully.
India’s first martial arts comedy “Local Kung Fu” director and hero Kenny Basumatary, famous Assamese actor Kapil Bora and Natasha Mago have also acted in the movie.
This film has been shoot by cinematographer Ajayan Vincent, with music directed by Avinash Baghel and edited by Rupam Kalita. The Executive Producer is Monali Bhardwaj and the sound has been designed by Samuel Yonzon.
On 7th March, “Raag” will release in Mumbai, Gurgaon, Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata and Hyderabad by PVR.
