New Assamese Movie Jeeya Jurir Xubaax released in Mobile Cinema halls
Assamese film industry may lack the spirit these days due to the monopoly of Bollywood. But there is tremendous potential and the future looks bright, thanks to exciting new projects being made by Film-makers from Assam who are willing to take risks.
Film maker Sanjib Sabhapandit expounds the idea behind his latest film ‘Jeeya Jurir Xubaax’. His plans are genuinely innovative and thought provoking. He wants the crowd of Assam to involve themselves as he feels it’s a story which every individual from Assam should know. In Assam, mobile theatre do plays a huge role in attracting large number of crowds for 2 to 3 shows a day. Mr. Sabhapandit plans to use this platform to display his film. His film highlights the contribution of Assamese people in the freedom movement, which is generally unseen by the people of Assam and also the Indian film industry.
Jeeya Jurir Xubaax highlights the still burning issues of casteism, underdevelopment in this part of the region. Actors like Victor Banerjee and Bishnu Khargoria play the sketching role in the plot trapping the verdant bucolic landscape, said Sabhapandit. The idea to make innovative films about varied subjects turned the engineering lecturer of Assam Engineering College into a director. He has also acted in Jahnu Barua’s ‘Kuhkhal’.
The movie ‘Jeeya Jurir Xubaax’ will release at mobile cinemas that will accommodate 700 people at a time, while also looking to release it at PVR Cinemas in different metro cities, said the Film maker. Sabhapandit believes in Digital technology, which he thinks is still lacking in Jollywood and can do wonders for this industry in the future.
