Aarohi – upcoming Assamese film by Arup Manna
Aarohi – this is a film about a child, a child who is struggling to cope with the present day curriculum of education as well as the aspirations of the parents. The parents consider her as the means of achieving those goals that remain unfulfilled in their life. The teachers in school take her to be a learning toy or machine that has to perform in spite of all odds. The mounting pressure from all corners tends to rob her off childhood pleasures. She is forced to learn computer while it was the time to play with her dolls.
There is nobody to understand her. What will she do now? Who to tell? Where to go? Elude from school? Leave home? What happened to her? Want to know? Then you have to go to theater. Because this is the story of an upcoming Assamese film. Directed by eminent Assamese film maker Arup Manna. His previous films like Aideu and Adhyai were invited to and participated in nineteen and six international film festivals respectively around the globe. Every parent must watch this film, which will be released on 16th January 2015 all over the Assam. This film was already screening at 3rd Delhi International Film Festival on 20th December, 2014. The lead characters are played by child artists Shabnam, Rag Oinitom and Chandana Sharma. Edited by Hiranya Kalita and shot by the director himself. Here’s hoping Aarohi will also touch the heart of audience.
