The biggest award of Bollywood is now going to honour the films of east India. Yes, the iconic Black Lady, which is the most desirable award of Bollywood superstars, some people even call it the Oscars of India – The Vivel Filmfare Awards 2013, will be given away on the 29th of March, 2014 at Science City auditorium, Kolkata.

It is almost 60 years since the first Filmfare Awards were introduced, and for the first time The Vivel Filmfare Awards is going to give a national exposure to the regional films of Assam, Bengal and Orissa.

A total of 29 awards will be given away in 21 categories for Bengali cinema and four each for Assamese and Oriya films.

The Black Lady of Vivel Filmfare Awards was unveiled in a press conference by Bengali superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee in the presence of Tarun Rai (CEO, WWM) and Sandeep Kaul (CE, Personal Care Products Business, ITC Ltd.).

Everyone hopes that such initiative by Vivel and Filmfare will greatly encourage the filmmakers, actors and other professionals of the Assamese, Bengali and Oriya film industries.
