The Magnificent Mary Kom

Last year, while I was in Shillong, I remember watching a procession on the streets of Laitumkhrah; it was for the occasion of Mother Mary feast. There she was – the divine Mother Mary’s figurine being led from one corner of the city to another.
And then, few days later, the same streets were full of advertisements featuring another Mary, a boxer who belongs to the state of Manipur. It was Mary – Mary Kom, a lady not a bit less divine. How divine, do you ask? Well, her strength, confidence and hard work speak about her divinity, no doubt about it.
When in action, this lady delivers a feast of and from her fists; here is a list of her achievements so far:
